French government suffers intense cyberattacks

Several French government departments were targeted by a series of cyberattacks starting Sunday night. The government activated a crisis unit in response.

While the attacks are still occurring, the effects have been reduced and some websites have been restored. The prime minister’s office released a statement.

Since [Sunday], several government departments have been the subject of cyberattacks whose technical methods are conventional but the intensity unprecedented. Many ministerial services have been targeted.
